The MediaCorp artistes who were nominated at the 2015 Asian Television Awards (ATA), now in its 20th year, may have ultimately gone home empty-handed, but there were no sore losers to be found among them.

Instead, Chen Hanwei, Felicia Chin and Pierre Png chose to see their nods as a form of positive recognition, and to be honoured that they were contending against fellow thespians from all around the region, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and China.

First-time nominee Felicia in particular was more than glad to lose the Best Actress in a Leading Role title to her idol Zhou Xun, who delivered her acceptance speech via a recorded video as she could not personally attend the ceremony, held last night (Dec 3) at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre.

“I really aspire to become an awesome actress just like her,” the 31-year-old gushed in a quick interview with Toggle at the event’s after-party. “I have a lot of room for improvement, but she’s definitely an inspiration to me.”
