Singapore’s first-ever bilingual pre-school TV series – Junction Tree, will be making its debut broadcast on Okto channel on 27 February 2017.
Supported by Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism and Info- communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA), the Mediacorp production is set for 26 episodes. Each episode comprises three versions: English-Chinese, English-Malay and English-Tamil, with a bilingual host for each language version.
Junction Tree is set in a hyper-real park where the characters live in a magical big tree house with other tree communities. Pre-schoolers will be able to relate to the story with situations such as making new friends and first day of school as well as learn important lessons on ideals such as punctuality, respect and caring for the environment from uniquely Singapore characters including Kucinta, the cat-puppet and Moomba, the cub lion.
All three versions are telecast on Okto. A repeat telecast will also be on channels 5, 8, Suria and Vasantham.
