We interviewed Fly Entertainment artiste, Carla Dunareanu, who picked up the “Best Comedy Performance by an Actor/ Actress” award for her role as sweet Stephanie in the Channel 5 series, Rojak. Rewinding back to 2 December at last year’s Asian Television Awards, she almost broke down on stage, as she gave a heartfelt acceptance speech. We caught up with her to find out exactly what went racing through her mind when she win.
1. How has life been since winning the “Best Comedy Actress” award at the Asian Television Awards?
Carla Dunareanu: Life has been the same! There really hasn’t been any difference besides the fact that some people congratulate me on it now.
2. Who were the people you first thought of sharing the news of your win with? Why?
Carla Dunareanu: My mum and Sister! They’ve always been my biggest supporters and I felt they were a large reason for my win.
3. Going back to 2 December 2016, what was going through your mind when your name was announced?
Carla Dunareanu: To be honest, I was in complete disbelief. I didn’t think I would win so when I heard my name, it too a few seconds before it actually registered in my head that “my name” does equate to ME. Which means I WON. That’s pretty damn surreal.
4. Will we see you back on 1 December 2017 for the 22nd Asian Television Awards?
Carla Dunareanu: Hopefully!
