HOOQ, Southeast Asia’s the largest Video on Demand service, has appointed Jennifer Batty, as its new Chief Content Officer (CCO). She arrives at HOOQ with almost two decades’ worth of experience at the forefront of programming and channel development in North America, Asia and Europe.
Her appointment could not be more timely. HOOQ is enjoying a burgeoning audience base, with a rise in demand for more quality content with greater variety. High on her to-do list is to build on last week’s agreement with Marvel for exclusive SVOD rights to three new series – namely Marvel’s Inhumans, Marvel’s Runaways and Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. This represents an extension of a deal signed with Disney early in the year.
Prior to this appointment, Jennifer was Executive Vice President of Programming at RTL CBS Asia Entertainment.
