Viddsee announced its original content slate for the year with seven new web-series including a short film anthology, three social documentary series, a coming-of-age comedy-drama, a web series about a taxi driver and a dramatic thriller series about cyberbullying.

The first of releases from Scene City, the short film anthology, is Ellie Ngim’s Run Chicken Run. Veteran television actor Peter Yu stars with child-actress Alysia Tay in this heartwarming drama about a father and daughter relationship and their unique Chinese New Year traditions.

The other confirmed filmmakers for this slate of Viddsee Originals are Michael Tay, JD Chua, Rifyal Giffari, Sabrina Poon, Christine Seow, Ng Yiqin, Eileen Chong, Jacky Lee and Don Aravind.

Also launching in February is the social documentary While You Sleep featuring Singaporeans who work the graveyard shift. Directed by Christine Seow, the five-episode series will profile the extraordinary jobs of an animal rescuer, a suicide hotline volunteer, an ambulance driver, an A&E medical staff and an embalmer.

The two other social documentaries are Memories On A Plate by Ng Yiqin, an intimate examination of food and heritage, and Confessions by Eileen Chong, an inspirational series about the resilience of the human spirit.

All seven web series will be released on Viddsee’s platform from February to August 2018 and is produced in collaboration with the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) as part of a public service content initiative to develop original content with local content creators.
